Sulcatas are the world’s 3rd largest breed of tortoise. Only Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises get bigger! The Sulcata is native south of the Sahara Desert in Africa. The Sulcata tortoise can often reach weights of 300lbs or greater.

These huge tortoises move around slowly during the day, sunbathing to soak in the daytime heat while their diet consists of munching on mostly plants and different types of grasses.
